David Morehouse on Hits to the Head Source: The Pensblog
The Globe and Mail has an interesting article on headshots that includes some quotes from Penguins' President & CEO David Morehouse: “We’ve been on both sides of devastating and controversial hits to the head, and we believe that they should be eliminated from the game, period.” Of course, these comments are just going to increase the number of people yelling “MATT COOKE KILLS PEOPLE AND YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT CROSBY!!!!!!!!!!!!” Morehousecontinues, however: “If we’re going to have supplementary discipline it can’t just be a punitive tool, it has to be a legislative tool. And I think we really have to take a hard look at it and try to make sure that teams are held accountable for the behaviour of their players, and that’s us included” No one's going to pay any attention to the “that's us included” line, of course. … Follow this link

Pens pick up another critical point. All you need to know. In a game that was critical to the Blackhawks, the Pens hung on to the bitter end. In the years before the Pens and Hawks started shooting to stardom, we saw the Hawks as a mirror image of the Pens, in terms of building through the draft, plugging holes with some tick turds making plays, and solid defense. The only parts that aren't similar: the egregious Brian Campbell contract and the fact that even some of the Blackhawks players don't know who their goalie is. Can't really find a reason to despise the Hawks. The Marian Hossa hate should've subsided when the Cup was raised in Detroit … Read more

Even though Wilkes-Barre has one of the best winning percentages in North American pro hockey this season, there's still some uneasiness felt when you see the Pens have names in their lineup that sound like mobsters and/or backup tight ends. CROSBY WATCH: Update Source: The Pensblog
Details are sketchy right now, but there are reports coming out of Canada that Crosby took a “big-time dump” in the bathroom at his parents' house. Those familiar with the situation said it was one of those dumps where you feel like it's on the cusp of breaking through, so you give it all you have, which can sometimes result in you becoming light-headed for a moment. Our source said that following the dump, Crosby did not show any symptoms of light-headedness or fatigue. In fact, there was no bowel movement.
