Be Part Of Mario Mosaic At Consol Energy Center

Pens opened up the series with a huge thrust. Apparently no one told Habs or the league that Pens were amazing on the power play, at least for one game. You know you are playing a great game when kids like Craig Adams and Alex Goligoski  are scoring goals. Habs lost Andrei Markov who is out indefinitely with a lower body injury on clean hit that was delivered by Matt Cooke. In return Habs took out Jordan Staal who is out indefinitely as well. Dan Bylsma updated media on Staal’s condition stating “a procedure to repair a lacerated tendon in his foot.” “As far as a time frame goes we will not put a time frame on it at this point,” Bylsma said. “But he has not been ruled out for a return.”

Game 2 looked much like one of the last few games in the Caps vs Habs series. I am sure Dan Bylsma has a plan of adjustments for game 3. What i personally want to see Pens do is get in Halak’s face, less plays from behind the net and more plays in front of the net. Poni is not doing what he is supposed to do. I want to see guys like Craig Adams and Matt Cooke step up and score goals because its clear that Habs D will be all over Crosby and Malkin but unlike Ovie and Semin our boys actually know how to pass the puck. Loss of Staal has huge impact on PK and we simply can not afford to take stupid penalties such as interference penalty that Fedotenko took in the first period of game 2, simply unacceptable.  I am sure Tenk has best intentions and his attendance at optional practices show just that, but he might as well has been wearing Habs jersey in game 2. I want to see him step up and play like its 2004 SCF game 7.

Pens In 5!

No need to panic. Everybody just keep calm.

Is losing to Sens on home ice first game of the playoffs a wake up call?

No!

Its like adding fuel into fire!

No doubt in my mind Pens come back Friday night chopping heads.

This is just the way Pens build up momentum of the series.

You cry, i laugh!

Best part Geno = 2 goal. Mama and Papa Malkin ain’t even here yet!

Keep Calm and O RLY!?

Keep Calm and do the Geno chant. Thanks Nicole T.

Keep Calm and enjoy Craig Adams backhand goal …

Keep calm cuz MAF’s mandatory-playoff-goal-giveaway-while-being-stuck-behind-net is history now.

Besides $15,000+ raised on beard-a-thon towards Mario Lemieux Foundation

should give more than plenty of money aside to pay off all the refs.

Keep calm and drink beer.

No tickets? Keep calm and watch Pens destroy Sens on Friday on Trib Tron.

Keep calm and do the chant.

WBS Pens lost 4-3 to Rats … still …

Keep Calm and Believe!

And here’s a new episode (the first episode actually) of the Yinz Luv ‘Da Guins: The Podcast:
http://yinzluv.podbean.com/ (You can also download it on iTunes.)

Penguins earn their first shutout of the season with MAF between the pipes against Bruins. Boston Bruins were so hyped up and focused on getting revenge on Matt Cooke their forgot the most important thing … HOW TO PLAY HOCKEY! Only thing that could have gone better is if Geno was playing and Cookie scored a goal. Not complaining really. Not even going to post the fight between Cooke and Thornton … just want to get this all over with. Not sure what Mike Rupp was thinking fighting Chara but i don’t think he landed a single punch on Chara’s face … it was just too far away.

So many other good things happening.

WBS Pens winning in OT 5-4 against the Springfield after being down 4-1 in the second period. Chris Conner with a goal to tie the game and Deryk Engelland with a game winner. Good job boys! Here are some pics from the game … http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=147485&id=25795361383&ref=nf

Speaking of the history, boys on the Pens radio mentioned “The Save” by Frank Pietrangelo … Pens back up goalie during 1991 Stanley Cup playoffs.

Geno has been practicing. However, this is what he said about today’s game. ”My chances are not 100 percent. We play at 1 p.m. (Saturday) which is bad for me because we don’t have a morning skate. I do have a chance though.” http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=521998

Thanks to Seth from EN we know what today’s give away will be. MINISTICKS!!! HAT TRICK TIME BABY!!!

Psycho Hockey Lady broke down the code for blogging about Puck Bunnies … kind of entertaining … http://www.psycholadyhockey.com/tips-for-writing-about-puck-bunnies/ So remember kids next time you see a girl at the game being in heat over Letang’s Sex Hair know that she might actually know more about hockey than you!
