Pens In 5 and Yinz Still Luv Da Guins

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Here is your new desktop background. Hint: click on it to download high resolution. Thanks Seth from EN for posting it.

Yeah keep talking shit because you don’t have much of anything else to bring forward. Sens like a bunch of circus monkeys tried to put on a show for their home crowd and miserably failed. They only thing they manged to accomplish is injure Tyler Kennedy. TK suffered right leg injury after hit by Andy Sutton in the first period. Hockey wise Sens couldn’t accomplish much against the Pens irresistible force. In fact 2 of their goals was scored in 5-on-3 situation.  As promising Versus statistics suggested Sens had no chance, Pens 7-0 this season when both Crosby and Malkin score. At the end of the 3rd period Ruutu’s last resort tactic of blowing officials did not yield much result. 7-4 Pens win and are leading series 3-1.

Pens are headed home to end this freak show on home ice. Andy Sutton considering career alternatives as a golf expert. Btw, Crosby still sucks …

Foleys atmosphere was unreal last night with exception of some new kids whose hate for Devils this season have clouded their vision and their cheer for Flyers was completely uncalled for. Let me remind you hating Devils is not the same as cheering for Flyers. Know your enemy! Don’t know about ya’ll but i want to face Devils in the playoffs and stick it up to them. Sign ideas include … “You can’t beat us in the playoffs”. I am happy to report that Pens flag above Foleys was once again flying yesterday before the game. Big thanks to Shaun owner of Foley’s Pub.

Jim Shearer who caught a break from his busy working schedule was at Foley’s as well. Sure enough he came out with a new hilarious episode of Yniz Luv Da Guins. I am glad he wasn’t the only Penguin fan on the cruise.

Optional skate today at 1pm showed who wants to get some ice time … Seven Penguins participated in the optional practice at Mellon Arena. Those that laced up the skates are Matt Cooke, Ben Lovejoy, Eric Godard, Ruslan Fedotenko, Deryk Engelland, Brent Johnson and Brad Thiessen. The rest of the Penguins took a well deserved break.

Jordan Staal nominated for Selke Trophy but as Seth from EmptyNetters puts it Staal has no chance of winning it since its “… almost seems like a Gold Glove in baseball. You can seemingly only win it if you’ve won it before. If that makes sense.”

Lots of talk about new 3rd alternative jerseys for Penguins that will be coming out later this year. Quote taken from here.

New alternate jersey It’s been widely rumored and now Reebok is confirming that the Penguins will ditch their powder blue thirds in favor of a new alternate uniform for 2010-11. Once again, the manufacturer hasn’t released any details of the design.

However, Tribune-Review beat writer Rob Rossi said in December that blue would be returning in some fashion to the new third jersey. It’s probably a safe bet that the Pens will dig into their past once again for this sweater — likely going with one of the darker blue options.

The home and road jerseys will stay the same.

Another High School Pens Video … don’t these kids have like classes and homework to do or something?

Out For Justice

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

What a night! I am thankful to God for at least 2 things. One, thank God i am still alive. Two, thank God Crosby still sucks. While its difficult to argue Sid’s complete ice domination in second game of the series, MAF was my second star of the game. Sure he let in Regin snap shot just seconds into the game. Sure Sid totally saved Fleury’s butt at one point. However, for the rest of the game MAF shut the door on Sens. While certain fans were hatin’ on Flower every time he left the crease to play the puck i could completely understand him. He wanted to get out there get the taste of rubber, be part of the game, be more active rather than passive goalie. He is a beast man and at the end of the day he got it done and Pens tie the series. Fleury = Solid! People that were at the game and mocked-cheer Flower … go date Ovechkin!

“I didn’t understand it,” defenseman Brooks Orpik said, “after everything he’s done for this organization.” [here]

Thanks @PensU_Nicole for the twitpic

After the game it dwelled on me that all of a sudden “Out For Justice” slogan makes a bit more sense and things just got more personal between Pens and Sens.

Video from TPB

While its hard to deny Sutton’s cheap shot on Leopold and it seems that NHL is not going to do anything about it.

“League looked at the hit and there will be no discipline. No elbow was involved.”

Pens have to take it upon themselves to respond. Overall i hope it just adds to Penguins game to stick up to Sens and eliminate them from the playoffs. Pens are on the mission from God … they are Out For Justice. Hate is underrated!

While Leo is out with a head injury and possible concussion, worry not brothers and sisters for Ben Lovejoy is to the rescue. WBS Pens down 2-0 in the series against Albany River Rats.

KEEP RUPP IN THE LINE UP!

Para Pa Pa Pa I am Lovin’ It

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Para Pa Pa Pa I am Lovin’ It … no not McDonalds and not even MacDonald … I am loving hockey! Its actually really funny to think that hockey is by far most superior sport in the world. I mean think about this the NHL has dodged steroids, crooked referees, gambling scandals, domestic abuse and thug life. Lets keep hockey clean and we understand that your dad used to play for Penguins in 1970s but still thats not how you win in hockey … fire MacDonald.

What a great hockey game last night for Pittsburgh Penguins! Even though Evgeni Malkin was not I’m Scor3 yesterday amma still love him while he is rockin’ that Penguins jersey. He did look extremely hungry last night … hopefully someone will feed him tonight. He skated well, entered the offensive zone like a boss and took good shots … just needs to bury one.

MAF had his game of the season last night. He stopped basically everything flamingCs had to offer, 37 saves. Our boys were playing pretty tight D as well. Check out this clusterpuck in front of the Penguins net.

Because of MAF performance last night this puckbunny has changed her mind. If in the beginning of the game she was like …

At the end of the game she was like … actually her name is Kristyne De Mott .. but who cares?!

Sidney Crosby (30), Bill Guerin (15) and Tyler Kennedy (8) all scored for Pittsburgh. Crosby has goals in four straight games and hit the 30 goal plateau in just his 47th game of the season. Crosby is on pace for 51 goals and has never scored more than 39 goals in a season. One word … Trade Crosby! :-)

Godard took a pretty bad penalty but made up for it when he dropped gloves with Brian McGrattan

BillyG with the needed game winning PPG that was deflected from Sergei Gonchar’s slap shot. Speaking of Gonchar and his elbow hit on Clutterbuck has made some people upset. While Gonchar is not expected to face discipline over the hit he did share his side of the story. While we are talking about Sarge its worth mentioning that Ray Shero and J.P. Barry, the agent for Sergei Gonchar held their first set of substantive talks Tuesday afternoon in Calgary. While no official offer was tendered to Gonchar but Pittsburgh is now focused on a three year extension. Gonchar is believed to be seeking deals of 3 years – $15 million and 4 years – $20 million. If a true home-town discount was on the table, a deal would have been struck a while ago. Shero is willing to go as high as $4.25 million per season on a three year extension and are willing to go $5 million per season {Gonchar’s current salary} on a two year deal. Meanwhile, regarding Kris Letang, there has been “absolutely” no movement towards a new deal. [http://insidepittsburghsports.com]

This was one of the most complete and confidence-inspiring games in a while. Lets take the momentum from this game and apply it tonight with the back to back game against Edmonton Oilers.

Some notes …

John Curry has been told he will remain with the team until the end of the Penguins road trip. Brent Johnson who is experiencing some technical difficulties with his groin will not be cleared to suit up until next week at the earliest.

Same goes for the candyman, Brooks Orpik, who is hopeful to practice on Friday but won’t be cleared to play at any point during the rest of the road trip.

Luca Caputi will drop his pants and shake up his booty, might also play on the 4th line tonight but is expected to see time on the top two lines.

There has been talk that Ben Lovejoy is getting a strong look to remain with the team. Only problem is there isn’t enough space on the Penguins roster. Ben has 4 goals and 7 assists with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pens this season so far.

Again puck drops at 9:30pm EST … get some coffee!

Injuries Update and Penguins recall Ben Lovejoy back to Wilkes-Barre Scranton.

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Apparently, Ben Lovejoy has been sent back to Junior Pens after scoring his first NHL goal. A lesson to be learned kids … be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.

Sidney Crosby was traded to Washington Capitals.

Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar were sent back to Russia to play for Metallurg Magnitogork.

Marc Andre Fleury retired and opened his own restaurant at undisclosed location somewhere in Canada.

Console Energy Center will be a new home for Phoenix Coyotes and Chris Chelios.

On a more serious note everyone needs to quit crying, relax, and support their team. If you are going to talk smack about Pens i have been authorized to give out Maxime Talbot’s Shhhhhhhh Treatment and put a sweet daddy smack on yo face! LETS GO PENS!

Pens vs Devils tonight! Steve Mears vs Tom Grimm in the morning!

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Ben Lovejoy was on the ice with Penguins for the morning practice skate. Glad to see he finally came to his senses and decided to join us. We expect great things from him, and this is his chance to finally show us what he has got.  In other words no pressure! Worst case scenario is you are going to get injured in your first NHL game. What are the chances of that happening?

Maybe you’ll get trapped in the  trapezoid behind the net and then get hit in the head. Yeah take that NHL! Keep your head up Ben and don’t suck.
