While most of us were busy scratching our nut sacs, puking our brains out after last nights party, or developing 3rd degree burns on the beaches this summer, Geno was busy making this world a better place. Most of you must have heard that HCDB visited Geno in Moscow. They got it on and had a great time with bunch of groupies from the Russian Penguin fan club called “Penguin Support Crew”. Basically 7 Russian dudes that needed an excuse to sneak out in the middle of the night and go drinking at the local sports bar. If you haven’t heard well then read article here or see photos here.
Well apparently after Geno left Moscow he went back to his home town Magnitogorsk. Here he got his hands dirty making an Olympic Bear painting for the “Symbols Of Russia” charity auctions. All the money raised goes to support local library. Geno mentioned that he hasn’t held a paintbrush in over 10 years but still managed to come up with the following masterpiece.

Look how proud Geno is of his work!

Some action shots …

Apparently the results of the auction were pretty dissapointing. His paiting auctioned off for 2300 rubles which translated to about $76 dollars. Now this is world famous Stanley Cup Champion we are talking about here. While some local boozed up politician’s painting sold for 7000 rubles at the same auction. Just goes to show that Russian people need to get their priorities straight.
On the next day after action Geno and Oksana visited the same foster home for kids as last year. Last year Geno spent some time going over all the local foster homes. This one was the worst one as it had nothing to offer to kids for playing. So he donated a bunch of toys and build a playground for older kids. This year he came back and build two more play groups for toddlers. The kids love Geno and refer to him as “big good uncle”. What is there not to love!?

As the wise man once said … “All You Need Is Love”. Pretty sure John said it but this is close enough.
