I’ve been saying it for years, and I’ll say it again, you just cannot have enough Russian in your everyday life. People without the pleasure of some Russian influence just have no idea what they are missing out on.
Why are the Islanders such a crappy team? Forget their arena woes, their real problem is they have no Russians on their roster!
Ever wonder why Dallas is really that boring to watch? It’s not just that they’re Southern, its the fact that they have no Russians lacing up!
You want to know why Chicago will not win the Cup this year? No, its not really because they have Hossa on their roster, its who they don’t have… Russians!
Why is this all relevant? Because Russians are something the Penguins DO have! Night in and night out, we have one of the best Russian forwards and one of the best Russian defensemen in the league suiting up in the Black and Vegas Gold.
Interestingly enough, the Pittsburgh Penguins have NEVER, since their inception, had a Russian goaltender play in a game.
Tonight, that could potentially all change.
Please welcome: Александр Печурски
Alexander Pechurski will be backing up John Curry in goal tonight, against Vancouver. Brent Johnson is on the injured reserve, and Marc-Andre Fleury was out too late last night partying with ShutYour5Hole. Just kidding, he messed up his finger. So young Alex from Magnitogorsk has a shot at becoming the first Russian goaltender to write himself into the Penguins history books. It’s not likely, as he is currently signed to a one game try out, but if Curry messes up bad enough…yea, let’s not really think about that.
A Russian goaltender may be exactly what the Pens need to keep the fire under their ass lit.
Two-fifths of the goaltenders leading the NHL in wins are Russian… just sayin’.

Great research … Magnitogorsk if you could see Alex now! He probably rocks so hard just as hard as my bro since they share their first name. This would be perfect for Geno to show up in front of his town mate to show how its done in NHL. So excited!!! LETS GO PENS!
