It seems pretty ridiculous at this point that Penguins can’t go a single game without losing someone to an injury. Latest news, Alex Goligoski is out for 2 – 3 weeks with the notorious “lower-body” injury. Gogo has been Penguins top d-man this season with 6 goals and 8 assists. Losing him now will definitely have negative effect on the team. Get well soon Alex!
So lets recap all of the injuries. Beginning with a 5-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 20 the Penguins lost in the following order: Sergei Gonchar (broken left wrist), Evgeni Malkin (shoulder strain), Tyler Kennedy (undisclosed), Kris Letang (shoulder strain), Brooks Orpik (lower body) and most recently, Chris Kunitz (lower body), Alex Goligoski (lower body). Wow my hand was hurting typing all those names out. Of course, Geno is back and is hotter than ever. Bylsma was pleased with the way Fedotenko played on the same line with Sid and Geno.
Couple of other names that have stepped up their game during these rough times are Mark Eaton and Pascal Dupuis. Last game Mark picked up a goal vs Boston and impressed me when he blocked two shots on empty net keeping Penguins alive in the 3rd. Of course Pascal Dupuis, besides desperately needing an eyebrow trim, has scored two goals last game. Looking more from these guys tonight vs Ducks.
Penguins recalled Nate Guenin from Wikes-Barre Scranton Penguins to take Gogo’s spot. Guenin hasn’t picked up a single point this season in 15 games. Looking forward to see him play tonight but not expecting anything great at this point. Guenin is native to Pittsburgh but spend his last 3 seasons in Philly. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
Expected lines for tonights game:
Fedotenko-Crosby-Malkin
Bourque-Staal-Guerin
Cooke-Letestu-Dupuis
Rupp-Adams-Godard
On defense:
Skoula-Lovejoy
Eaton-Engelland
Guenin-McKee
LETS GO MULLETS!
