So Brooks Orpik is out … who is a better man to take his place than Ben Lovejoy! I kind of hoped for this just didn’t know it was going to come at the cost of losing our sweet Candy Man. Sad but true story. Moving on … i am sprading rumors that veteran to American Hockey League, Ben, is coming to join the Penguins 1337 ranks. Check out his numbers for last year, 7 goals – 24 assists:
| Season | Team | GP | G | A | PTS | +/- | PIM |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2009-10 Regular Season | Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins | 7 | 2 | 1 | 3 | 2 | 6.00 |
| 2008-09 Regular Season | Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins | 76 | 7 | 24 | 31 | 42 | 84.00 |
| 2007-08 Regular Season | Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins | 72 | 2 | 18 | 20 | 16 | 63.00 |
| 2006-07 Regular Season | Norfolk Admirals | 5 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 6.00 |
Look how happy Ben Lovejoy is!
Ben was kept out of Penguins roster due to his shoulder injury that occurred during an exhibition game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sept. 22, or was he? Anyway, lets welcome Ben to NHL!
Moving on … Canadian TV (TSN) has gone mad and made fun of Sidney Crosby and said that he can’t carry the team while Geno is out. They mentioned that Geno was able to deliver steady results with Penguins while Crosby was out. They said Sid is not a solo player like Geno, he needs people around him to make stuff happen. Madness? Shots on goals vs Boston Bruins … Pascal Dupuis = 4 > Sidney Crosby = 2
Truth or not … still half of the team is injured … or are they!?
Regardless, people have asked me to make some phone calls to find out whats going on with the Pens. No problem. I picked up my phone and made some phone calls.
Geno said: “I great feel, play tomorrow, very hard!”
Pascal Dupuis said … “I did not have sexual relationships with that man, Pensblog Charlie.”
However, Mike Yeo was able to confirm my new conspiracy theory that Dan Bylsma is using to expose more players to NHL while preserving key players for later in the season. Think about this … who is stupid enough to have all of their key players injured all at the same time … i mean stuff like this just doesn’t happen … Max Talbot, Sergei Gonchar, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, Tyler Kennedy, Brooks Orpik. Only in the movies. Think about this rationally, today, Deryk Engelland made his debut in NHL against Bruins and was leading Pens defense with number of hits. Thursday, Ben Lovejoy will put on Penguins Home Jersey for the first time to dominate NJ Devils, who upset Penguins on Oct 23rd 4-1. Thats right Dan … let new guys play … save stars for later in the season and playoffs. Amazing, they are all not hurt … mystery solved. While i don’t question the techniques Dan Bylsma is using, i do want to see Penguins score some goals in the process. Dan promised me that he is still working out minor details and it only gets better from here! Sleep well tonight, Pittsburgh. I can’t make this stuff up.
LETS GO PENS!!!
